★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hands down the best car rental company in brazil. I frequently rent cars with them and haven’t had any problems so far. In matter of fact I have nothing but compliments. Always clean and new cars, quick pick up and drop off and always fairly returns the deposit.
It’s a little bit more expensive than other car rental companies, however it is totally worth it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst experience I ever had in any rental car service in all of my trips. Think twice whenever you decide to rent a car in Brazil because it can turn in a real nightmare.
I paid my reservation online through Expedia for a car I needed to go from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro two days in advance before the pick up. When I arrived to Movida I was attended by Andrea (on the picture) who from the beginning treated me in a very bad way. She had me waiting more than one hour after giving all the documents and my credit card for finally saying that my reservation had been denied by the “system” without any explanation or apologies for all the time she had me in the line.
All my papers and documentation (DNI and drivers license) were ok and of course I did not have any problem with my credit cards that I had used in the entire trip to Brazil. So my only theory is that they decided me to arbitarily cancel my reservation made through a third party (Expedia) because some how it wasn’t convenient for them (the fee commission).
At the end My itinerary for my trip that day was absolutely compromised after one hour they had me waiting for confirming my reservation. I was totally abandoned in the middle of Sao Paulo city with all my bags, with no place to stay that night and with a hotel reservation that was fully paid in my next destination that was 5 hours from Sao Paulo.
I had to incurred in multiple other costs for trying to find another rent a car on the run without any previous reservation online. I paid two Ubers and lost 3 hours trying to find another rent a car. Luckily for me, the next rent a car I found, Localiza, was the opposite in their treat to me and without any struggle they rent me a similar car that I had paid in Movida.
The worst part, is that after one week I am still working with Expedia to have my full reimburse of the charges they took on my credit card for a reservation that never took place.
Please my advice is don’t ever ever rent a car in Movida or through Expedia. In Brazil go for localiza instead or You could end up being in a real nightmare in a foreign country without any assistance from anyone.
