★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Matriculamos nosso filho em 02/21. Na primeira visita, eu e minha mulher mencionamos que ele é autista, e a coordenadora disse que a escola estava pronta para lidar com isso.
Mas, na segunda semana de aula, ela marca uma reunião e fecha as portas da escola para o meu filho.
Alegaram que tinham que tirá-lo da sala para seguirem com as atividades. Que ele assustava as outras crianças. Que era melhor pegar o dinheiro das mensalidades para outra coisa.
Saímos de lá pensando que nosso filho não se adaptaria a uma escola. Felizmente, hoje ele está muito bem em outro colégio.
Não é fácil até hoje. Ainda mais pensando que minha esposa estava recém-saída de um AVC na época. Mas escrevi para que isso não se repita com mais ninguém.
We enrolled our son on 02/21. On the first visit, my wife and I mentioned that he is autistic, and the coordinator said that the school was ready to deal with this.
But in the second week of school, she sets up a meeting and closes the school doors for my son.
They claimed that they had to get him out of the room to continue with the activities. That he scared the other kids. That it was better to take the tuition money for something else.
We left there thinking that our son would not adapt to a school. Fortunately, today he is doing very well at another school.
It's still not easy today. Even more so thinking that my wife was fresh from a stroke at the time. But I wrote so that this doesn't happen with anyone else.
