★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a Walmart. Great selection, but be careful of the expiry dates. The prices are all very competitive and they have bulk packaging for many items. One thing that I was specifically looking for they didn't have: frozen strawberries and/or frozen blueberries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Each of the last four times I have been to BIG I have chosen an item because of a special price marked with signage on that product. And, each time when I arrived at the cash register, those specially marked items rang up at the wrong price. It was always considerably more than marked. And, each time they sent someone on roller skates to go check the price. For the very first time today they confirmed that the item was indeed R$3.99 and not the R$7-something it rang up for. In the past, however, they have always defended the price that rang up, not the advertised special. The excuse has usually been that someone forgot to change the sign, that the special price was no longer applicable. Once, I was told that someone must have put the sign up a day early. I could understand this happing once in a while, but it's consistent with this store. It makes one wonder if the signage team at this location is the most consistently incompetent group of people on the planet, or if they're actively trying to cheat their customers. I've become so irritated that I doubt I'll ever go back to this store. If I hadn't learned to watch the price of each item, I would have paid almost R$120 more on my last four trips. This is unacceptable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Has more food than many USA grocery stores. Very lettuce. Lots of meat. Small beer selection. The seafood area needs to be bleached, it smells pretty bad, even for a seafood area.
