O Museu funciona num pequeno sobrado construído em meados do século XVIII, que abrigou um mercado de escravos negros no período colonial.
O acervo é composto por objetos de cultos religiosos como estatuetas, cabaças, cachimbos, tambores e fotografias de mães e filhos de santos da Casa de Nagô e Mina. Há também instrumentos de tortura utilizados no período escravocrata. Não deixe de visitar!
We were very well received and guided by Cristopher.
The Museum works in a small house built in the mid-18th century, which housed a black slave market in the colonial period.
The collection consists of objects from religious cults such as statuettes, gourds, pipes, drums and photographs of the mothers and children of saints from the Casa de Nagô and Mina. There are also instruments of torture used in the slavery period. Be sure to visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Não consegui ter experiência com o museu porque não o encontrei aberto. Fui terça feira a tarde, depois quinta e depois sexta, conforme fui orientado. E entre 9 de novembro e 13 de novembro de 2021 só encontrei o museu fechado. Fui todos os dias a tarde. Então resta pensar que um museu tão importante está pessimamente administrado.
I couldn't have experience with the museum because I didn't find it open. I went Tuesday afternoon, then Thursday and then Friday, as I was instructed. And between November 9th and November 13th, 2021 I only found the museum closed. I went every afternoon. So it remains to be thought that such an important museum is badly managed.
