★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Estabelecimento amplo e moderno. Houve muitas dificuldades para sua abertura, pois como havia outro supermercado na cidade, não havia interesse em permitir que o Carrossel se estabelecesse em Caxambu.
O terreno onde o supermercado está hoje localizado era um antigo estacionamento, que segundo sei foi adquirido por cerca de um milhão de reais, em parcelas.
Em razão do terreno ficar bem próximo ao Parque das Águas, a construção do imóvel do Carrossel foi combatida por grupos que alegavam que ela causaria problemas às fontes de água mineral, o que foi desmentido através de um laudo geológico demonstrando que o terreno fica APÓS a zona de recarga do lençol freático que abastece as fontes, e consequentemente não afeta o Parque das Águas. Ainda assim, foi necessário realizar uma construção com estacas curtas, de modo a minimizar o impacto no solo.
Finalmente, após uma batalha que durou anos, o supermercado Carrossel de Caxambu pode ser construído. A "vingança" - se é que podemos chamá-la assim - veio na forma de preços baixos e atendimento superior, que faliram o supermercado concorrente.
Após esse período de promoções, os preços no Carrossel - coincidência ou não - subiram para valores superiores aos praticados pela Rede em outras cidades.
O supermercado é limpo e oferece uma grande gama de produtos. Hoje é, sem sombra de dúvidas, o maior e melhor da cidade. Se os preços melhorarem um pouco mais, ficará ainda mais atraente aos caxambuenses.
Desejo sucesso ao Carrossel, pois à época achei uma covardia o que foi feito para tentar impedir a construção dessa filial.
 Spacious and modern establishment. There were many difficulties in opening it, because as there was another supermarket in the city, there was no interest in allowing Carrossel to establish itself in Caxambu.
The land where the supermarket is now located was an old parking lot, which I understand was purchased for around one million reais, in installments.
Because the land is very close to Parque das Águas, the construction of the Carrossel property was opposed by groups who claimed that it would cause problems for mineral water sources, which was denied by a geological report showing that the land is AFTER the zone of recharge of the water table that supplies the sources, and consequently does not affect the Parque das Águas. Even so, it was necessary to carry out a construction with short piles, in order to minimize the impact on the ground.
Finally, after a battle that lasted years, the Carrossel de Caxambu supermarket could be built. The "revenge" - if we can call it that - came in the form of low prices and superior service, which bankrupted the competing supermarket.
After this period of promotions, prices on the Carousel - coincidence or not - rose to higher values than those charged by the Chain in other cities.
The supermarket is clean and offers a wide range of products. Today it is, without a doubt, the biggest and best in town. If prices improve a little more, it will be even more attractive to Caxambuenses.
I wish Carrossel success, because at the time I thought it was cowardly what was done to try to prevent the construction of this branch.
