Ao conversar com o Pastor Utemberg Rocha (na época o mesmo era Pastor da Assembleia de Deus em Córrego), o mesmo lhe incentivou a criar um centro de lazer com capacidade pra receber retiros no período de fim de ano, carnaval e feriados. E assim aconteceu... Em novembro de 2006, acontecia a inauguração.
O Centro de Lazer Nova Canaã conta com três piscinas, um toboágua, um alpendre para armar mais de 30 redes, um restaurante, auditório, lanchonete, palco no estilo coreto, chalés, vasta área verde com muitas árvores e muito mais.
Em todos os anos várias caravanas visitam o local passando até 4 ou cinco dias. Nova Canaã tornou-se o lugar ideal para retiros, reuniões, palestras, gincanas, passeios escolares e para passar o dia com a família.
The project was conceived by Averaldo Cabral, who was going to build just a small place to spend the weekend with family and friends. When talking to Pastor Utemberg Rocha (at the time he was Pastor of the Assembly of God in Córrego), he encouraged him to create a leisure center with capacity to receive retreats during the end of the year, carnival and holidays. And so it happened... In November 2006, the inauguration took place.
The Nova Canaã Leisure Center has three swimming pools, a water slide, a porch to set up more than 30 hammocks, a restaurant, auditorium, cafeteria, bandstand-style stage, chalets, a vast green area with many trees and much more.
Every year several caravans visit the site for up to 4 or five days. Nova Canaã has become the ideal place for retreats, meetings, lectures, scavenger hunts, school trips and to spend the day with the family.
