Nossa Senhora de Lourdes é uma das invocações marianas atribuídas à Virgem Maria e que surgiu com base nos relatos das aparições que foram presenciadas por Santa Bernardete Soubirous, numa gruta de Lourdes, na França. Ocorreram no ano previsto por Nossa Senhora de La Salette, também em França, em 1846, doze anos antes, e foram reconhecidas pela Igreja Católica.
Very beautiful, I love Catholic churches with this architecture, I know many similar ones.
Our Lady of Lourdes is one of the Marian invocations attributed to the Virgin Mary and which arose based on the accounts of the apparitions that were witnessed by Saint Bernardete Soubirous, in a cave in Lourdes, France. They occurred in the year foreseen by Our Lady of La Salette, also in France, in 1846, twelve years earlier, and were recognized by the Catholic Church.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A igreja de Nossa Senhora de Lourdes em Ponta de Areia é pequena, mas de uma beleza singular com seu formato de Cruz quando vista de cima é de uma singeleza sem tamanho! Em 1999, os sinos da igreja que andavam calados voltaram a ecoar pelo distrito. Graças a Paulo Roberto do Carmo Gualhano e amigos do Arsenal de Marinha do Rio de Janeiro que refizeram os sinos e eles foram colocados na torre da igreja. A tarefa foi executada com sucesso com a ajuda da Caravan branca, de Theodomiro Pimenta Junior, filho de Noca Pimenta, a mesma que trouxe os sinos do RJ em uma carreta e que os puxou com uma corda em uma polia. Já que devido ao tamanho e peso dos sinos, não seria possível subir pelas escadas internas. E desde então, os "Sinos de Ponta de Areia voltaram a ecoar". E naquele mesmo ano, dona Ede Santos, cuidadora da igreja, havia conseguido com doações reformar a igreja. E padre João Carlos, "Joca" como todos o chamavam, deu a bênção aos sinos antes de subirem para o seu lugar definitivo. Foi organizada uma cerimônia para a bênção.
The church of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes in Ponta de Areia is small, but with a singular beauty with its cross shape when viewed from above, it is of a sizeless simplicity! In 1999, church bells that had been silent again echoed through the district. Thanks to Paulo Roberto do Carmo Gualhano and friends from the Rio de Janeiro Navy Yard who rebuilt the bells and placed them in the church tower. The task was successfully carried out with the help of the white Caravan, by Theodomiro Pimenta Junior, son of Noca Pimenta, the same one who brought RJ's bells in a cart and pulled them with a rope on a pulley. Since due to the size and weight of the bells, it would not be possible to climb the internal stairs. And since then, the "Bells of Ponta de Areia have returned to echo". And that same year, Dona Ede Santos, the church's caregiver, had managed to reform the church with donations. And Father João Carlos, "Joca" as everyone called him, blessed the bells before ascending to their final place. A ceremony for the blessing was organized.
