I found this beautiful church by chance walking around Recife, I was having a beautiful wedding, in the vicinity there are several bars with live music. What a happy memory!

A Igreja Madre de Deus é um templo católico da cidade do Recife, capital do estado brasileiro de Pernambuco. Situa-se ao lado do prédio do antigo Convento dos Padres Oratorianos, primeiro convento da Ordem de São Filipe Néri no Brasil, ao qual era ligada através do extinto claustro.[1][2]
História
A edificação da Igreja Madre de Deus foi autorizada em 1680, tendo como construtor e doador do terreno o "mascate" Antônio Fernandes de Matos. Em 1709 o templo foi concluído, apresentando fachada com duas torres e o corpo central em pedra.
O interior da nave é um amplo salão com capelas laterais e um majestoso arco triunfal de severa cantaria com dois altares no arco cruzeiro. O altar-mor é de talha dourada com nichos sacrários e trono em estilo rococó. O forro entalhado da capela-mor acompanha aqueles das capelas-mores da Basílica de Nossa Senhora do Carmo e da Concatedral de São Pedro dos Clérigos. A sacristia possui grande arcaz e lavabo, considerado o mais notável do Brasil, executado em Portugal. O templo abriga ainda algumas imagens que pertenceram à primitiva Igreja do Corpo Santo, demolida quando das obras de modernização do Recife.[1][3][2]

The Madre de Deus Church is a Catholic temple in the city of Recife, capital of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. It is located next to the building of the former Convent of the Oratorian Fathers, the first convent of the Order of São Filipe Néri in Brazil, to which it was connected through the extinct cloister. [1] [2]
History
The construction of the Madre de Deus Church was authorized in 1680, with the builder and donor of the land the "peddler" Antônio Fernandes de Matos. In 1709 the temple was completed, with a facade with two towers and a central stone body.
The nave's interior is a large hall with side chapels and a majestic triumphal arch of severe stonework with two altars in the cross arch. The main altar is of gilded woodwork with sacrificial niches and a Rococo throne. The carved lining of the chancel accompanies those of the main chapels of the Basilica of Nossa Senhora do Carmo and the São Pedro dos Clérigos Cathedral. The sacristy has a large chest and lavatory, considered the most notable in Brazil, executed in Portugal. The temple also houses some images that belonged to the primitive Igreja do Corpo Santo, demolished during the modernization works of Recife. [1] [3] [2]
