Fugir do trânsito cada vez mais caótico de Belo Horizonte e economizar tempo. Esses foram os argumentos do empresário Renato Las Casas, 30, para comprar um helicóptero. Ele é um dos moradores que contribuíram para a alta no número de aeronaves na capital, que cresce acima da média nacional. De acordo com a Associação Brasileira de Pilotos de Helicóptero (Abraphe), enquanto no Brasil o número de helicópteros cresce 20% ao ano, em Belo Horizonte, o percentual é de 30%.
Dados da Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (Anac) mostram que o Estado já conta com 194 helicópteros, número 70% maior que o de 2007, quando eram 113. Só na capital são 58 aeronaves que fazem por dia cerca de 50 pousos e decolagens. O diretor da Abraphe em Minas, Theo Rolfs, destaca que o interesse é natural diante das dificuldades do trânsito e do crescimento da economia. “O empresário precisa chegar cada vez mais rápido para garantir os negócios, e o trânsito está cada vez pior”.
Las Casas recebeu o helicóptero em dezembro, três meses antes de tirar o brevê para pilotar. Hoje, ele não precisa terceirizar o serviço. “Fui até Ipatinga (no Vale do Aço) e gastei 40 minutos. De carro, seriam duas horas e meia e, muito provavelmente, teria que pernoitar na cidade”, disse o empresário, que usa o helicóptero quase que diariamente para ir ao trabalho – o deslocamento da região Centro-Sul da capital até Betim, na região metropolitana, dura cerca de sete minutos.
Custo. Mas a comodidade tem um preço. Um helicóptero novo não sai por menos de R$ 800 mil. Além disso, há gastos com a manutenção, que podem chegar a R$ 30 mil por mês. “É um custo que vale muito a pena. Consigo dedicar mais tempo para o que gosto de fazer”, argumentou Las Casas.

By car, it would be two and a half hours and, most likely, I would have to spend the night in the city ”, said the businessman, who uses the helicopter almost daily to go to work - the displacement of the capital's South-Central region to Betim, in the region metropolitan, lasts about seven minutes.
Cost. But convenience comes at a price. A new helicopter does not cost less than R $ 800 thousand. In addition, there are expenses with maintenance, which can reach R $ 30 thousand per month. “It is a cost that is very worthwhile. I can dedicate more time to what I like to do ”, argued Las Casas.
