If you want to feel the neighborhood atmosphere, be in the place where almost everyone has known almost everyone for at least 30 years, and you want to try a real cafezinho or some of the classic Carioca snacks, or perhaps take a roasted chicken home, this is the place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Regular breakfast: ham and cheese sandwich with over easy egg plus mate leão with lemon. Pure plain coffee to complement. Nice place also to buy fast track groceries and tasteful chicken with potatoes for lunch

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only go to this place if you speak Portuguese. You will be overcharged as a foreigner. The 1st time this happened, I thought I had ordered wrong. The 2nd and now the 3rd time I realize this was true. My Portuguese friend went with me and ordered the same thing for $10.00 less than I was charged. Chicken is good but beware the prices.
