A solenidade de inauguração, ocorreu dia 27 de dezembro de 2016 e teve a presença de policiais civis e militares, Polícia Rodoviária Federal, guarda municipal, autoridades e também de moradores, além do governador Camilo Santana.
A Delegacia Regional de Sobral atende 26 cidades da região norte do estado. O efetivo conta com 6 delegados, 9 escrivães e 12 inspetores. O investimento na unidade foi de R$ 798.220,23. No local, antes funcionava o Detran da cidade.
São dois pavimentos, em uma área de 1,7 mil metros quadrados, com salas para os delegados, de depoimentos, da Defensoria Pública, do inspetor chefe, sala de Custódia, de depoimentos, cartórios e duas celas.
The headquarters of the regional police station in the city of Sobral, was inaugurated with a 24-hour operation.
