The Engineering Club of Rio de Janeiro is a Brazilian entity that brings together engineers and technicians, in addition to other partners, from the state of Rio de Janeiro and other states, and deals with issues related to major national themes, and also themes professionals, within the various areas of engineering, as well as publishing publications aimed at the technical sector.
Founded on December 24, 1880, by Conrado Jacó de Niemeyer, it had relevance in several political and technical decisions in Brazil, such as the liberation of slaves, the nationalization of Petroleum and the creation of Petrobrás, the energy policy of Brazil, the countryside of Direct Now and the Transposition of the São Francisco River.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Entre os dias 29 e 30 de outubro de 2007 participei de um Evento com cerca de 300 pessoas – líderes comunitários, moradores de favelas, representantes de Ongs e pesquisadores no Clube de Engenharia do Rio de Janeiro para acompanhar os debates organizados pelo IBASE/IUPERJ em torno de mesas temáticas que abordaram o resumo dos resultados da pesquisa “Rompendo o cerceamento da palavra: a voz dos favelados em busca de reconhecimento”, coordenada pelo professor Luiz Antonio Machado da Silva. Gostei muito da hospitalidade.
Between October 29 and 30, 2007, I participated in an event with about 300 people - community leaders, slum dwellers, NGO representatives and researchers at the Rio de Janeiro Engineering Club to follow the debates organized by IBASE / IUPERJ in around thematic tables that dealt with the summary of the results of the research "Breaking the limitation of the word: the voice of the favelados in search of recognition", coordinated by Professor Luiz Antonio Machado da Silva. I really enjoyed the hospitality.
