★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Muitas coisas interessantes, mas não tem guias guias para apresentação ao público. São tantas coisas pra ver, que sem auxílio, o visitante fica perdido. Acho justo já que a visitação não é gratuita (mas também não é caro).
 Many interesting things, but there are no guide guides for presentation to the public. There are so many things to see, that without assistance, the visitor is lost. I think it's fair since the visitation is not free (but it is also not expensive).

I am researching the following event: graduates of the Escola de Minas in 1927 go for a walk (or technical visit) and suffer an accident on a bridge and when they fall into the river they suffer from TIFO and some die.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lugar maravilhoso! Espaços com exposições sobre a mineração, sobre pedras e pedras preciosas, sobre minérios, sobre arqueologia. Muito educativo e conta uma parte essencial da cidade de Ouro Preto e sobre o Estado de Minas Gerais - a mineração. A escola em si, que não é mais lá (apenas partes de pesquisa e observatório ainda são realizadas no lugar), é uma das melhores da América. O lugar possui logo na entrada guarda volumes e em alguns ambientes não se pode fotografar.
Wonderful place! Spaces with exhibitions on mining, on stones and precious stones, on ores, on archeology. Very educational and tells an essential part of the city of Ouro Preto and about the State of Minas Gerais - mining. The school itself, which is no longer there (only research and observatory parts are still held there), is one of the best in America. The place has a storage area at the entrance and in some environments it is not possible to photograph.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amamos a escola de Minas. Uma pena que algumas salas estavam fechadas por falta de verba. Dá pra se ter uma ideia tanto da história atual quanto da diversidade de pedras encontradas Brasil afora.
We love the Minas school. Too bad some rooms were closed for lack of funds. You can get an idea of both the current history and the diversity of stones found throughout Brazil.

Vale o passeio, não sei se o museu ainda está funcionando, mas é muito bonito, tem muita coisa interessante, para os amantes da mineralogia é o céu! A vista do pátio também é muito privilegiada! Vale a pena visitar!
I'm suspicious to speak because I graduated in engineering at Escola de Minas, at UFOP.
It's worth the trip, I don't know if the museum is still working, but it's very beautiful, there's a lot of interesting things, for lovers of mineralogy it's heaven! The view from the patio is also very privileged! It's worth visiting!
