José Jorge foi cunhado de Múcio Bandeira, diretor da Usina São José durante muitos anos, diretor do clube Internacional do Recife durante 20 anos e amigo íntimo de Jurandir. Quando morreu Jurandir o homenageou colocando seu nome na escola.

The school was opened in the 1980s when Jurandir was mayor of Igarassu. José Jorge was the brother-in-law of Múcio Bandeira, director of the São José Plant for many years, director of the Recife International Club for 20 years and a close friend of Jurandir. When he died Jurandir honored him by putting his name on the school.
