★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fomos comemorar o aniversário da minha mãe no Essência, e não poderíamos ter feito escolha melhor. Fomos muito bem atendidas, a comida é maravilhosa, os drinks também e o ambiente é lindo. Tudo muito caprichado! Indico muito pra quem quiser ter uma experiência especial. Minha mãe ainda ganhou sobremesa por ser aniversário.
 We went to celebrate my mother's birthday at Essência, and we couldn't have made a better choice. We were very well attended, the food is wonderful, the drinks too and the atmosphere is beautiful. All very fancy! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a special experience. My mom even got dessert for her birthday.

O garçom orienta sobre o cardápio online e deixa o cliente se virar, sem apresentar os pratos ou indicar algum. Mas até aí tudo bem, ele pode estar respeitando a privacidade. Pedimos um prato premiado, com tinta de polvo, mas não parecia com foto no Instagram. Que por sinal foi onde pudemos ter uma noção do prato, pois no cardápio online não aparecia. O preço é salgadinho e não atende as expectativas relacionadas ao sabor. Minhas 4 estrelas vai mais para o ambiente do que os pratos.
Beautiful environment! Cozy, right by the beach. Negative: menu by QR, and who doesn't have the app or doesn't know how to use it? The waiter advises on the menu online and lets the customer turn around, without presenting the dishes or indicating any. But so far so good, he may be respecting privacy. We ordered an award-winning dish, with octopus ink, but it didn't look like a picture on Instagram. Which, by the way, was where we could get an idea of the dish, because it didn't appear on the online menu. The price is salty and does not meet the expectations related to the taste. My 4 stars goes more to the ambiance than the dishes.

One that is very rare to find in Brazil, the flavours are so authentic so are the people who are running the place. Very well travelled and highly hospitable, the couple who owns the restaurant express their culinary passion through their four course reasonably priced meals. Highly recommended specially for foreigners who are looking for reminiscing south east Asian food culture that is not commonly found in Brazil.
