Veja uma breve história retirada do site da instituição.A mantenedora, União de Faculdades de Alagoas é a concretização de um ideal de uma família, a Figueiredo Costa que a implantou e posteriormente orientou e apoiou ao longo dos anos de existência, transformando-a em um centro por referência do pensamento sobre a realidade socioeconômica alagoana com eficientes convênios com universidades nacionais e internacionais, atuando com vocação pioneira, preocupação com a qualidade e seriedade de propósitos.
Em 1989, a UNIFAL era a CORESE Consultoria e iniciou o Desenvolvimento Profissional dos alagoanos e região, em um cenário pobre e desolador, com uma quantidade muito grande de talentos humanos capazes de modificar aquele estado de coisas e é isso que vemos hoje, na nossa região, um lugar de gente sempre preocupada com o saber e se capacitando para acompanhar o dinamismo das descobertas tecnológicas e da sua aplicação no mundo. As nossas principais atividades sempre foram: Os cursos de curta e longa duração, treinamento e aperfeiçoamento, pós-graduação lato-sensu e o intercâmbio e parcerias com universidades do Rio de Janeiro e da Europa.
Essas Iniciativas de pleno sucesso foram massificando a credibilidade da instituição e estruturando a organização em suas bases mais cruciais que são: o suporte financeiro, o suporte de infraestrutura física e a infraestrutura de pessoal, culminando no surgimento da Mantida Faculdade Cidade de Maceió, cujo credenciamento e autorizações de cursos, se deram em 2004. Em seguida assumia a nomenclatura definitiva “Faculdade Figueiredo Costa – FIC”, que se deu pela Portaria MEC nº. 600 de 13 de setembro de 2006.
Resultados tão importantes decorrem, dentre outras coisas, da qualidade do seu corpo docente e técnico administrativo, com doutores, mestres, especialistas, graduados, pessoas da comunidade externa, colaboradores internos e externos, porém todos de altíssima qualidade, que, com os seus trabalhos, tornaram a mantenedora, União de Faculdade de Alagoas, em uma das mais importantes Desenvolvedoras de Talentos Humanos da Região

The maintainer, Union of Faculties of Alagoas is the concretization of an ideal of a family, the Figueiredo Costa that implanted it and later oriented and supported throughout the years of existence, transforming it into a center for thinking about the Alagoan socioeconomic reality with efficient agreements with national and international universities, acting with a pioneering vocation, concern with quality and seriousness of purpose.
In 1989, UNIFAL was the CORESE Consultoria and started the Professional Development of the Alagoas and region, in a poor and desolate scenario, with a great amount of human talents capable of modifying that state of things and that is what we see today in our region, a place of people always worried about the knowledge and being enabled to follow the dynamism of the technological discoveries and their application in the world. Our main activities have always been: Short and long term courses, training and improvement, lato-sensu graduate and the exchange and partnerships with universities in Rio de Janeiro and Europe.
These fully-fledged Initiatives have been massifying the credibility of the institution and structuring the organization in its most crucial bases: financial support, physical infrastructure support and personnel infrastructure, culminating in the emergence of the Maceió City Faculty, whose accreditation and authorizations of courses, were given in 2004. Then assumed the definitive nomenclature "Faculty Figueiredo Costa - FIC", which was given by MEC Ordinance no. 600 of September 13, 2006.
Such important results derive, among other things, from the quality of its faculty and administrative staff, with doctors, masters, specialists, graduates, people from the external community, internal and external collaborators, but all of the highest quality, who, through their work , became the maintainer, Faculty of Alagoas Union, in one of the most important Developers of Human Talents in the Region
