Desde 2014, Crateús é sede de mais um campus da universidade, trazendo os cursos de sistemas de informação, engenharia ambiental e engenharia civil para o povo crateunse. Até 2020 a expectativa é ter mais de 1.500 alunos cursando ensino superior.
