Being part of FUMEB is an honor for me! The work of rescue and preservation of Luta Regional Baiana is already a landmark in the history of Bahia. The atmosphere is welcoming, the reception of the Machado family, teachers and students denotes a serious entity, with moral values, principles and pure tradition! I am grateful for every legacy I have the opportunity to use in my everyday life. Being Regional is not just playing capoeira, but having a philosophy of life! I had my first two lessons of Capoeira with Mestre Nenel when I was for a couple of days in Salvador. My Portuguese was limited, but he taught me the basics very methodically. It was an awesome experience learning under a great mestre.
