★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't believe they call this place a mall. It's more like a bunch of stores thoughtlessly put together in one building, if you ask me. To me, that's not quite the definition of mall. It's also not good looking. There's nowhere to sit, unless you go to one of the upper floors, where you can find one place to sit, and that's it. Eating places don't count. It's not a place for just hanging out, let alone going on a date.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gavea shopping was once the best shopping in Rio. Small, exclusive, great service.
For some 3 or 4 years now the shops are vanishing, there are more and more restaurants, all so overpriced, and not good. Service is poor. The security guards believe they have police powers, and they don't. They believe they rule even the sidewalks, which they don't. It was exclusive, not it's just snobbish.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice little mall where you can find a good amount of stores, parking lots and a big restaurants area with food options ranging from burgers fast-food to Japanese and other international cuisines for example.
It also has some upscale options for a drink with friends.
There's a lounge area at the upper floors and a big cinema and the theater has weekly live presentations and stand-up comedy.
You'll always find tons of university students here from the private catholic university nearby. =D

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you're looking for a big mall, just give up of this one. A bit small with fancy expensive options of clothes and other items, many options of ATMs its a great plus. The food and drink options are sort of divided by the building, so if you want to eat something specific you should walk to find it.It has a cinema and a theater. Parking available with payment by length of stay, and according to availability. Easy access to neighborhood of Ipanema, Leblon and Jardim Botânico. ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you aren't into a large mall and looking for something with a bit more local flair, this place delivers. It was certainly a local mall and every shop was charming. As an American, I felt very safe and welcome here.
