Nascida na região de São José do Rio Preto, interior de São Paulo, já aos 18 anos se interessou por espiritualidade, se tornou monge e viveu em um templo Hare Krishna na cidade de São Paulo. Foi lá que aprendeu a arte da culinária lactovegetariana, viajou várias vezes para a Índia, pesquisando espiritualidade e culinária. A fusão entre as duas culturas e culinárias foi natural.
Foi assim que em 1995 nasceu o pequeno e simpático Gopalinha, dentro de uma galeria na rua Augusta . Após cerca de 3 anos foi instalado no número 413 da rua Antonio Carlos, onde permaneceu por mais de 20 anos, ganhou visibilidade, reconhecimento e carinho de seus clientes.
Hoje o restaurante Gopala está instalado nos Jardins, na Rua Dr Melo Alves 54, as vésperas de abrir sua segunda unidade na Rua Harmonia 484, na Vila Madalena.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent service in a beautiful and thematic environment. The dishes has been adaptated to Brazilian taste. Don't have hope to find really spiced food, including the masalas. You choice Individually dishes amoung 2 menu options which include dessert and a kind of juice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food (and take that from me a meat-aholic eater!) and nice pricing (R$ 29 for salad, main dish, juice and dessert ). This was the small plate but believe me it's enough for almost anyone. You can order more of the small portions for R$ 3 each (in case you're still hungry but didn't want to order the large plate). There are lines though and depending on the day you may have to wait for a while…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice vegetarian restaurant. Close to Indian preparation but looks they have localised to the native land which is good so that the local residents can taste the Indian preparations. For my friends from India do not get disappointed and comment as it is very natural to customize to local needs. Enjoy the decor and the efforts in far away city.
