★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lugar lindo e com muito trabalho pra ser feito . É incrível que tanta natureza sobrevive a tanto descuido. É impossível não ir na reserva e não se tornar um sonhador e lutador pela despoluição da Baía de Guanabara. Espero que cada ano que passe consiga ver mais natureza neste local
 Beautiful place and a lot of work to be done. It's amazing that so much nature survives so much carelessness. It is impossible not to go to the reserve and not become a dreamer and fighter for the depollution of Guanabara Bay. I hope that every year that goes by I can see more nature in this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Projeto maravilhoso. Unidade de conservação federal desde 2006, abrange 2 mil hectares localizados em parte dos municípios de Guapimirim e Itaboraí. Manguezais isentos de intervenção humana agressiva, apresentam características cênicas semelhantes ao período anterior à colonização européia. É a parte da baía mais conservada e pura, com viveiros de peixes e ainda se encontra botos, já extintos em outras regiões da baía pois sofrem massacres. Nos leitos dos manguezais, na época da desova, são milhares e incontáveis os filhotes de caranguejos.
Pena que todo o pescado de lá vai pro entreposto de Niterói. Nós aqui do RJ ficamos com os peixes poluídos mesmo rss
A Unidade mantém parceria com a Guardiões do Mar que é uma ONG de São Gonçalo e realizadora do Projeto UÇA, desenvolvendo atividades de conservação ambiental, restauração florestal , retirada de resíduos etc.
A UERJ tb estava com projeto de pesquisa no local, porém devido a falta de verbas, as coisas andavam meio paradas. Com o agravamento da crise do Estado, devem ter parado de vez, pois TB é intenção do governo federal fechar todas as universidades estaduais. Somente a USP deve ser mantida.
É um passeio que vale à pena, principalmente qd se chega a baía de Guanabara e se vê cardumes inteiros saltando a frente de nossos olhos e... Depois os botos tão especiais.

It is the most conserved and pristine part of the bay, with fish ponds and dolphins, which are now extinct in other regions of the bay, are still extinct as they undergo massacres. In the mangrove beds, at the time of spawning, there are thousands and countless baby crabs.
Too bad all the fish from there goes to the warehouse in Niterói. We here in RJ keep the polluted fish even rss
The Unit maintains a partnership with Guardiões do Mar, which is an NGO from São Gonçalo and conducts the UÇA Project, carrying out environmental conservation activities, forest restoration, waste removal, etc.
UERJ was also carrying out a research project at the site, but due to a lack of funds, things were going a bit still. As the state crisis worsened, they must have stopped altogether, since TB is the intention of the federal government to close all state universities. Only USP should be maintained.
It is a worthwhile walk, especially when you arrive at Guanabara Bay and you can see whole schools jumping in front of our eyes and ... Then the dolphins so special.
