E foi elevada a Paróquia em 15 de Abril de 1982. Os primeiros padres, da Igreja do Alto, eram da Congregação dos Missionários da Sagrada Família, da Alemanha.
The Igreja do Alto, as it is affectionately called by the residents of Rocas and Arredores, has been present in the neighborhood since 23 August 1925, almost 94 years ago. And the Parish was elevated on April 15, 1982. The first priests of the Upper Church were from the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Holy Family of Germany.
