Possui diversos laboratórios de pesquisa, além de salas de aula, banheiros, bebedouros, um grande jardim interno, um lago artificial com chafariz, estacionamento e lanchonete. Atualmente é o prédio principal dos cursos de biologia e é frequentado por alunos de diversos outros cursos da universidade, como agronomia, engenharia florestal, educação física, farmácia e medicina veterinária, possui também de um museu de zoologia com acervo diversificado e coleções científicas. Construção tombada e colonial, marca arquitetônica de toda a Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, em 2018 o curso comemorou o cinquentenário de sua criação e em 2019 a entrada da primeira turma.
Main building of the Institute of Biological Sciences and Health, which comprises the courses of Biological Sciences, in the modalities bachelor and bachelor degree and Pharmacy. It has several research laboratories, as well as classrooms, bathrooms, drinking fountains, a large internal garden, an artificial pond with fountain, parking and snack bar. It is currently the main building of biology courses and is attended by students from several other university courses, such as agronomy, forestry engineering, physical education, pharmacy and veterinary medicine, also has a zoology museum with diverse collection and scientific collections. Tilted and colonial building, architectural mark of the entire Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, in 2018 the course celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of its creation and in 2019 the entrance of the first class.
