Ipupiara, also called sea-man, is a species of sea monster that was part of the mythology of the Tupi peoples that inhabited the coast of Brazil in the 16th century. According to popular belief, he attacked people and ate parts of their bodies. According to reports from Colonial Brazil, an Ipupiara was found and killed in the captaincy of São Vicente, in the year 1564.
After countless acts of vandalism, arriving in 2016 to set fire, they made several restorations in other years, in the beginning there was even fish around. Now we inaugurate a historic redundancy, the legend of a statue that existed in the square; at least this one is registered with Google.
