★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a historic red-&-white-striped lighthouse on the beach, popular with photographers & sunset viewers. At night, there’s hardly anyone around, so you’d be better to visit during the day. It stands 21 meters high (69 feet) and was built in 1873. This is one of nine cast iron lighthouses prefabricated for Brazil by P & W McLellan of Glasgow, Scotland. For those lighthouse fans, the light is a white flash every 6 seconds.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For the cheap admission you get to visit the oldest lighthouse on the continent! There is a ton of history here with ship models and salvaged artifacts dating to the 17th century. A must visit for Salvador and be sure to climb up to the top for the views!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a splendid place with the sun set. The ocean is clean and the waves come warming the feet. The lighthouse stands to the sea and makes a wonderful plot to photographers. The area is a little risky in terms of safety, one should always be smart.
