We checked to wash our clothes in Paraty with my friend and we saw the prices online. We thought it was a bit expensive but we didn't have choice. I've been travelling for the last 7 months in Asia and south America and i never saw a place as expensive as this one to wash clothes but as i said, we didn't have choice...
We came with two small bag (one for my friend and one for me) which together gives a big bag and the lady wanted us to pay 34R for each which is 69R for a laundry... like "seriously??". We talked to her about the fact that it wasn't fair because it wasn't big enough to do 2 wash but it was not possible.
We had to go back to our hostel and ask the reception if they could do it for us. They told us it would be 34R for our clothes at the laundry (both bags) and when we told them what happened, they were very surprised because they said it was a normal large laundry...
Our hostel found another way to do our laundry. I don't know if it's because it is low season or just normal price for tourist but don't expect a "large" bag to be washed. It is more like a "max medium" bag.
34R which is 8 euros for a laundry is the highest prices i ever heard.
