Os reservatórios de água tem tendência de deposição e acumulo de substâncias nas paredes e no fundo , oriundas da própria água fornecida, seja qual for o tipo de abastecimento, se não removidas periodicamente, essas substâncias podem alterar a qualidade da água do reservatório , como também se as caixas não estiverem devidamente vedadas e protegidas podem adentrar animais como ratos, pombos, baratas , e se tornar local propicio para proliferação do mosquito Aedes aegypti , vetor da dengue e provocar riscos a saúde dos consumidores.
A importância da limpeza nos reservatórios de água é para manter a potabilidade da água, realizando a limpeza e higienização a cada 6 meses como exige o Decreto nº 20.356, de 17/08/1994, e realizando em menos tempo, caso a água apresente qualquer alteração em seu aspecto e/ou apresente corpos estranhos provenientes da falha na vedação.

Water reservoirs tend to deposition and accumulate substances on the walls and bottom, coming from the water supplied, whatever the type of supply, if not removed periodically, these substances can change the quality of the water in the reservoir, as well as if the boxes are not properly sealed and protected, they can enter animals such as rats, pigeons, cockroaches, and become a favorable place for the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, vector of dengue, and cause health risks for consumers.
The importance of cleaning the water tanks is to maintain the potability of the water, cleaning and sanitizing every 6 months as required by Decree No. 20.356, of 08/17/1994, and doing it in less time, if the water has any alteration in its appearance and/or present foreign bodies resulting from the failure of the seal.
