★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Big surprise, you are in a remote mountain village 1 hour+ from a town (Resende) and not a big one, so prices are a bit steep. The market is not dirty or non-hygenic, it is a typical rural market. It has a modest (pretty good compared to other local stores) selection of fresh vegetables and fruits and decent selection of most other things you could need for a few days. If staying in Maringá or nearby, you do not need to go into Visc d Mauá to buy groceries.
