It is a local place that anyone should try. Food is fresh, you buy fresh seafood (fish and shrimp are the most common) at any booth and then have it fried at a different booth. The price you pay on the seafood is quite reasonable and the fee for frying it is quite cheap. The only problem is the mess that sometimes takes over due to the local holidays.

Best place to buy fresh fish near São Paulo I believe. The installations leave a lot to be desired and the surroundings aren't pretty either

So many options of stand with fresh, delicious sea creatures. Make sure you walk around and check out all the stands before picking where to buy. Prices and quality clearly vary!

Very nice experience of fish shopping. Fresh fish and they clean and pack it up with ice , if asked for long distance travels.

Quite spacious, clean, and more vendors than the old one. There's a restaurant, Paru, which serves fresh street seafood dishes.

You can't get fresher fish than this place! You pick what you want, and the fishmongers make sure your fish is clean and filleted in the package. We bought 1 1/2 inches of the whole tuna circumference (never seem this before!). The fishmonger remove the skin and delivered 4 great tuna fillets ready to put in the grill. Everything was done in front of us.

Nice place but below my expectations, since I pictured it as big as Ceasa in SP. It’s not as big as I expected but it serves it’s purpose. If you’re looking for local fish, that is the right place to look for. Those are fresh and with good price. Don’t expect to buy fresh tuna or other kind if fish or sea creature that cannot be found nearby. Some of those are available but since they have travelled a long way frozen they are obviously not as fresh and good as the local ones. There is a small restaurant called Paru on the second floor witch serves only local fish (no salmon, tuna or crab). I ate some fish and chips and it was really good. Prices are a little high but you cannot argue against fresh fish. The free parking is not as free as it should be since there are people there who ask for tips after you park. I personally don’t like this kind of thing since they have no responsibility for any damage or theft that may occur to your vehicle even though you paid for their services, so my advice is to use a paid parking on the Convention Center across the street just in front of Mercado do Peixe. The entrance is on the other street on the back of Convention Center building. So if you are driving, when you see Mercado do Peixe on your right, stay on the left lane and make a left around the Convention Center building. The parking ramp will be on the back of Convention Center to your left. There is also a police station next to Mercado do Peixe where some big birds ,which I forgot the name, stay put on the roof of the station, maybe looking for some suspicious fish to walk out the doors of the market. At the end of the street you’ll find a ferry to Guarujá. There are 3 ferry’s. One for cars, one for people and one for bicycles. The round trip is R$12 for cars, R$4 for people and I assume that it’s the same for bicycles. It’s a 5 minutes ride and if you’re on foot and have no business on Guarujá, as I didn’t, it’s just a small boat ride. On Guarujá side there is just a small mall and a bus station. So, if you wanna buy fresh local fish or eat some good local sea food this is a good place to visit.

Very clean fish market, with a lot of options, a lot of people willing to help. At the first floor there is a cool restaurant where you can eat fresh things, with a view over the market.
