★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Having lived for more than 4 years here in the same neighborhood, Violeta Supermarket is not the cheapest one in the Sao Paulo Area but it does have competitive prices for those who live near the Universitary Campus of USP. It is also open on holidays, but be careful checking if it keeps the same schedule. Sometimes, depending if it not World Cup time and Brazil is playing soccer, it has restricted schedules. No kidding, it happens.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prices are great. However, both staff and clients are not prepared to deal with the social distance imposed by COVID. There is a general disrespect of the minimum distance required, and this is partly due to the very crowded space. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays this is particularly noticeable as vegetables are on sale and people get really close over the counters to shop. Management should consider limiting the number of customers inside the store allowed at the same time.
