Antes da aplicação eletrostática, os metais passam por duas linha de tratamento de superfície, primeiro o material passa pelo desengraxe aonde retiramos todo resíduo, após recebe uma camada de fosfato para uma melhor proteção anti-corrosiva. A fosfatização é um processo químico, a partir do qual é obtida uma camada cristalizada de fosfato de zinco sobre toda a superfície metálica.
