Passamos por uma situação muito desagradável: as atendentes a todo momento nos lançavam olhares de desconfiança e se aglomeravam perto de nós, claramente pensando que fossemos furtá-los. Foi uma situação altamente desconfortante e humilhante, visto que meu cunhado é preto.
Adquirimos o produto, que ressalto ser muito bom, porém não mais cogitamos voltar à loja pelo ocorrido.
Me pergunto até quando teremos de lidar com o racismo presente em nossa sociedade. Que a loja se conscientize e prepare melhor os funcionários para lidar com seus clientes. Afinal, qual o valor da dignidade humana?
Once, my brother-in-law and I went to the store to buy a watch. We went through a very unpleasant situation: the attendants were constantly throwing us suspicious looks and crowding close to us, clearly thinking that we were going to steal them. It was a highly uncomfortable and humiliating situation, as my brother-in-law is black.
We purchased the product, which I emphasize is very good, but we no longer consider returning to the store because of what happened.
I wonder how long we will have to deal with the racism present in our society. That the store becomes aware and better prepares employees to deal with its customers. After all, what is the value of human dignity?
