A escola foi inaugurada em 2010, provisoriamente para suprir os alunos excedentes, das escolas do Município de Maricá.
Ela atende ao ensino regular de creche e pré-escola de meio período e Ensino Fundamental.
Atualmente passa por uma ampliação para melhorar sua infraestrutura.
Foi um belo exemplo do poder público com sua interação social e humana no nível educacional.
The Mata Atlântica Municipal School is located around the Serra da Tiririca State Park between the municipalities of Niterói and Maricá in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The school was inaugurated in 2010, provisionally to supply the surplus students from the schools of Maricá Municipality.
It caters to regular daycare and part-time preschool and elementary school.
It is currently undergoing an expansion to improve its infrastructure.
It was a fine example of public power with its social and human interaction at the educational level.
