 Wonderful architecture contrasting old and modern, in addition the guided tour is great to understand the history behind the collection. A must visit for law students.

A construção do Palacete Conde de Sarzedas, também conhecido por "castelinho", ocorreu entre 1891 a 1895, a mando do deputado por São Paulo, Luis de Lorena Rodrigues Ferreira, bisneto do 5º Conde de Sarzedas. Inicialmente, o lugar era usado como salão de festas para políticos solteiros. Posteriormente, Lorena casou-se com Marie Louise Belanger, uma jovem francesa, e a trouxe para morar no local.
Na edificação, foram utilizadas madeiras nobres, lustres importados, ladrilhos hidráulicos e vitrais franceses.
No ano de 1939, a família mudou-se do local e passou a alugar o imóvel que com o tempo passou a deteriorar-se.
Nos anos 2000 a Fundação Carlos Chagas adquiriu o local, que logo depois em 2002 foi tombado pelo Conselho Municipal de Preservação do Patrimônio Histórico (CONPRESP) e restaurado entre 2003 e 2006. No ano de 2007 passa a sediar o Museu do Tribunal de Justiça.

Museu do Tribunal de Justiça de São Paulo inaugurado no Palácio da Justiça no dia 1° de fevereiro de 1995, é um museu institucional estadual, vinculado ao Tribunal de Justiça do Estado de São Paulo. No ano de 2007 passou a sediar-se no Palacete Conde de Sarzedas, constituído no fim do século XIX, localizado na rua Conde de Sarzedas, 100 no centro da cidade, próximo ao metrô Sé. O museu realiza exposições temporárias e serve como espaço cultural, além de preservar e transmitir componentes materiais relacionados à tradição e vida do Poder Judiciário Paulista, por meio seu acervo histórico, para que assim as novas gerações possam ter acesso à história e objetos ligados ao Poder Judiciário.
O Museu do Tribunal também preserva núcleos de exposição no Palácio da Justiça, bem como outros memoriais em diversos Fóruns do Estado de São Paulo.
Seu acervo é composto por móveis, objetos, processos e documentos de interesse histórico, quadros, vestimentas e bens arquitetônicos
About the Palace.
The construction of the Conde de Sarzedas Palace, also known as "castelinho", took place between 1891 and 1895, at the behest of the deputy for São Paulo, Luis de Lorena Rodrigues Ferreira, great-grandson of the 5th Count of Sarzedas. Initially, the place was used as a party room for single politicians. Later, Lorena married Marie Louise Belanger, a young French woman, and brought her to live there.
In the building, noble woods, imported chandeliers, hydraulic tiles and French stained glass were used.

About the Museum of the Court of Justice.
São Paulo Court of Justice Museum opened at the Palace of Justice on February 1, 1995, it is a state institutional museum, linked to the Court of Justice of the State of São Paulo. In 2007, it started to be located at the Conde de Sarzedas Palace, built at the end of the 19th century, located at Rua Conde de Sarzedas, 100 in the city center, close to the Sé subway. The museum holds temporary exhibitions and serves as a cultural space , in addition to preserving and transmitting material components related to the tradition and life of the São Paulo Judiciary Power, through its historical collection, so that the new generations can have access to the history and objects related to the Judiciary Power.
The Tribunal Museum also preserves exhibition centers in the Palace of Justice, as well as other memorials in various forums in the State of São Paulo.
Its collection consists of furniture, objects, processes and documents of historical interest, paintings, clothing and architectural goods

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quando eu tinha uns oito anos minha tia morava bem pertinho deste local e era um castelinho abandonado e todo caindo aos pedaços, eu e a turma de moleques entravamos lá para provar a nossa coragem e enfrentar o fantasma que diziam que lá morava.
Nunca vimos nenhum fantasma, mas a última vez que entramos um mendigo (ele era vivo rsrs) correu atrás da gente com um facão e nunca mais ousamos fazer tal aventura. kkkkk
When I was about eight years old, my aunt lived very close to this place and it was an abandoned castle, all falling apart, me and the gang of kids went in there to prove our courage and face the ghost they said lived there.
We never saw any ghost, but the last time we entered a beggar (he was alive lol) ran after us with a machete and we never dared to do such an adventure again. Hahahaha
