Despite not having all the artifacts from before, it is still a great place to learn about the history of our city.

The tour was very pleasant, everything is very organized, they are doing small renovations. The animals were very well cared for. For not charging anything and being administered by the municipal government, everything is within the average, not bad and nothing excellent. Is good.

Free ride in the city center. It is not essential if you are passing quickly through the city. But if you have time, it's worth it, especially if you like history. The entrance is discreet, we pass straight the first time. It tells the story of Amparo divided into five or six rooms, each room has a theme and explanatory texts. It has several everyday objects from the past, very interesting. When I went in November, it was empty. Quick ride, you see everything in less than an hour. If you read, maybe a little more. The place has a bathroom available, no parking, nor a snack bar.

I lived in Amparo over 10 years ago as a American missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We had a very limited amount of time to sightsee as missionaries but I’m so glad I got the opportunity to visit this museum. It is small but completely worth it to anyone living or passing through Amparo. It was free admission and the young man at the front desk offered us a guided tour, what a great opportunity for me as a foreigner to learn and appreciate more about the history of the city I was living! I remember the surgical tools and kidney stone, the rooster ice cream truck and how the guide mentioned that the private school in Amparo is the second oldest private school in the state of SP. Would recommend, I’d like to visit again when I have the chance.
