Serious hygiene problems. I saw chef used same spoon for tasting and after tasting put it inside pot. That was gross. I left the place and while leaving chef told me they use multiple spoons and never use it after tasting. I think i will believe what I saw. Also restroom was not super clean and cook was using his phone while preparing food. I am not sure how they clean mobile phones because mobile phone are one of the dirtiest devices. I wouldn’t no go there or recommend. No idea how they got Michelin with serious hygiene problems.

Experience was ‘good’ but short of 2 Michelin stars and one of the best restaurants in Brazil. Reception was warm but very brief and we got served our first dish almost immediately. We got the chef’s table but it felt a bit awkward with staff initially not being busy so you sort of sit and look at them while they look at you. Great design and interior, very interesting menu. We enjoyed the food and fresh ingredients. But my fiancé found a hair in her dish. It was replaced but I here was another hair in that one! We were offered a glass of wine to compensate. We asked for a wine list which the sommelier forgot about so had to remind him. We also had two very drunk and loud guys sitting next to us. Not much the restaurant could have done about it but it sort of killed the vibe. At the end, I was shocked to see the 12.5% service charge on my bill. It should have been removed as a courtesy. Overall, great to experience the creations of a prized Brazilian chef but the visit felt short of expectation for a 2 star restaurant.

Delicious, great flavor combinations, fresh and filling. I made a reservation 2 months ahead of time but they were also accepting walk ins. They have a nice bar where you can order drinks while you wait. Would not consider this kid friendly. They have a community table by the kitchen where you can sit alone and dine if you don’t want to sit in a large round table by yourself. Great staff.

Trying to describe the experience in this restaurant will not do justice. One needs to eat there to know it. Amazing food and exclusive experience. Mostly based on seafood and fish , delicious eating with complex flavors and combinations. A must if you are a foodie like me.

Far from what we expected. The dinner started off with a poor reception, waiting outside in the rain, without any umbrella, since there was a que to enter. No warm welcome you could say. Once seated we were asked 3 times by 3 different staff if we had any allergies (which we Already answered by mail) My wife was explained that the dinner had several options that was not included in the set menu price, (see picture) the full price with toppings like truffles or local cheese would be approximated 900 reais per person extra. I myself thought that going to a 2 star restaurant would have the more exclusive groceries already but this was not the case here. We also waited for quite a bit for 1 pre drink that I asked for (not offered) There was generally a lac of communication at the start of the dinner accordingly to drinks and to start the dinner generally. I went for the light wine pairing and my wife who doesn’t drink alcohol was offered 3 different jus/soft drinks - no alcohol free paring, fair enough..but that might should be possible at at 2 star restaurant these days. The dinner was served at a very high pace 8 dishes in less then 1,5 hours. Not comfortable. The natural wines was alright if you like natural wines - very high acidity thru all wines.. The food was 50/50 living up to expectations some good dishes like the sashimi the oyster and the dessert, squid was pretty good as well ,but nothing was memorable. Probably the dinner would been better topped with truffles and caviar?! But at the cost twice the menu we didn’t go for it. All over a great disappointment from start to end. If you’re considering this restaurant as your next visit I highly recommend you go elsewhere.

2 michelin stars!? Really?? Been to one Star restaurants in Europe which has been much better... food was mostly good, but exspectations were much higher.. most of the wine bottles cost more than the whole menu... Staff is not really friendly and organized..the chef is really arrogant, not a good thing in his opened kitchen...the kitchen guys play with mobile phones and talking all the time instead of creating great dishes...

We weren't sure about going to Oteque as we noticed some of the recent reviews weren't that good. We decided to give it a try and make our own opinion. We did not have a reservation but they were able to accomodate us with a nice table. The tasting menu was R$655 per person for 8 courses + service charge. We both had a glass of Riesling for an extra R$80 each. The menu was mostly seafood with one or two meat dishes. They accommodated dietary restrictions for my girlfriend. The menu had some optional extra options for a few dishes such as caviar, Wagyu beef, Italian truffle and Brazilian cheese for an additional cost (see picture attached). Different servers came to deliver the plates and gave a good description of the dishes. They offered us warm bread with some butter and sea salt which was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately the food wasn't what we expected of a 2 Michelin Star restaurant. The dishes were made out of very simple ingredients and none of them was amazing or came even close to blow us away. We were waiting for a wow factor and it did not come. We enjoyed one or two of the dishes but nothing really memorable. I believe the extra options could've MAYBE made a bit of a difference but for an extra ~R$1100 each, it really wasn't worth it. The lighting was a little too bright and the music did not match the ambiance. The overall experience was disappointing and we left feeling a little robbed. We unfortunately wouldn't go back.

Very creative dishes with simple but local ingredients, extremely well executed. The wine pairing is sublime and unique, with friendly and detailed introduction of every dish and pairing. Our expectations were high and Oteque far exceeded our expectations.
