Delicious sushi, karaage, and ramen! Service is pretty good. Would happily visit again to try out more of their menu. One thing about the ramen, personal preferences but the broth is a little watery for my preference. I like a thicker consistency as can be had in the best ramen shops. It is a personal preference though and I still thoroughly enjoyed the ramen regardless.

Not sure where some of these recently poor reviews are coming from, but we had a great experience last weekend. Chef’s sushi special was on point. Gyozas were spectacular. The real highlight was my wife’s Yakimeshi and her chicken pabun. Service was good, and the place was delightful. Ambiance enjoyable, particularly with the lighting. We will certainly be back, particularly for more pabuns. Recommend stopping by. kid friendly.

Fresh and delicious sushi. Well worth the slightly higher prices

Cannot recommend, despite the good reviews (reason we went for dinner). Got a mix of sashimi on rice and a Tonkatsu. Fish was all tough, could not bite through. Tonkatsu was rare in the middle (rare pork?). When I pointed this out to server, got a shrug and a full charge on the bill. There are better places in Ipanema than this Leblon house.

Nicely done, authentic, "Japanese pub" cuisine. Last time, we had some typical small dishes like pork gyosa, nasu misho (aubergine baked in misho), karaage (fried chicken bites with a very tasty sauce), and a not very typical one with grilled duck hearts which was just epic. These go down very well with a cold beer or two, as you would do in an izakaya in Japan, but they have some nice cocktails too. Don't expect too much from the service but it's polite enough and they know the dishes in Japanese which is a good sign. Other good signs are that you often see Japanese people eating there and also that they don't always serve what they have included in the menu, which to me it means that they will not serve you any old piece of tuna. They also serve a very reasonable ramen. It's small but rarely crowded, I think because it's not fancy. If you are looking for fancy go to the restaurant next to them which also has the izakaya word in its name but is anything but. If you are looking for a good Japanese, not-only-sushi joint, go to Pabu.

We didn't eat the ramen or the sushi and instead focused on the traditional izakaya food. Every dish was a superb example of the tradition. Would recommend and return.

Really great sushi and fish quality. Presentation and decor upgraded. Chicken kagage and fermented cucumbers outstanding. Good selection of Japanese beer sake and whisky and also non Japanese as well. Met with one of the owners who is also a chef and he was lovely. The staff are ok. I want to buy one of their t shirts. Great design.

Oh my god. I don’t know where to begin. The food is f* amazing! We loves everything, except the sushi de chef (we are not a huge fan of negiris). But all the other tapas were amazing! We went there twice because we really loved the food. Unfortunately nobody speaks english but somehow we managed to get what we wanted.
