A ida e vinda de barca, a ausência de carros e ruídos de motores, as ruas de terra batida, os imóveis baixos, ruas arborizadas, muitas praças e sítios históricos, jardins na maioria das casas, a vida simples, tudo bem diferente da agitação do Rio de Janeiro! Pode-se conhecer a ilha em um dia, mas recomendo passar o fim de semana para relaxar. Vá no inverno, caso não goste de calor. É poeirento e abafado em dias ensolarados. Merece mais cuidado dos administradores quanto a limpeza, jardinagem, controle dos animais de rua (cães e gatos abandonados) e moradias irregulares (comunidades).
 Great place to relax! The coming and going of the boat, the absence of cars and engine noises, the beaten-up streets, the low houses, tree-lined streets, many squares and historic sites, gardens in most houses, the simple life, of Rio de Janeiro! You can get to know the island in one day, but I recommend spending the weekend to relax. Go in the winter if you do not like the heat. It is dusty and stuffy on sunny days. It deserves more care of administrators as to cleanliness, gardening, control of street animals (abandoned dogs and cats) and irregular housing (communities).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ E um lugar calmo tranquilo onde você pode passear, comer em vários restaurantes produtos frescos do mar passear fazer um tour pela ilha vendo as marcas históricas do nosso período imperial . Interessante ver as crianças brincando livre nadando a vontade nas praias, Os moradores em geral sao muito receptivos com os turistas, bom lugar amo esta pequena ilha.
It is a quiet, peaceful place where you can stroll, eat in several restaurants, fresh products from the sea, take a tour of the island, seeing the historical marks of our imperial period. Interesting to see the children playing free swimming at will on the beaches, The residents in general are very receptive to tourists, good place I love this small island.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ótimo lugar pra curtir um fim de semana. Uma pena que as águas não estão tão limpas então fazem as praias ficarem vazias. O preço de algumas coisas são bem caros e de outros também.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice place for a whole day outing. No cars on the island, just bikes. A couple of decent restaurants can be found, with very fair prices. The locals are relaxed and welcoming. It feels like a small provincial Brazilian town with several examples of colonial architectural style, and the house of José Bonifácio, the master mind of Brazilian independence.
The down side is the timetable of the boats that connect Rio and Paquetá, and the working hours of bike rental, which closes at 5 p.m. while the boat is only at 6:30.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So nice and calm place to enjoy the natural. Just an hour from Rio by boat. It cost only R$5.90 but the place here so traditional and quiet. This area so safe, don't worry anything. There also many hour all the day. Also you can enjoy bike around the island just lent a bike or buy a sightseeing tour about 30-35 minute including visits to some points of interest.
The tour price R$70 maximum 5 person by electric buggy or full 1 hour tour just R$100. The price for bicycle for one hour R$5 and entire day R$25. For quadricycle for one hour R$20.
The weekday hour of the boat start from 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, 9:30, 11:30, 14:30, 16:30, 18:30, 19:30, 21:00 and 23:10
Weekend and holiday start from 6:00, 8:30, 10:00, 11:30, 13:00, 14:30, 16:00, 17:30, 19:00, 20:30, 22:00 and 23:30
