Great communication via WhatsApp and email particularly from Flavia. The tour we went on (4x4 waterfall tour) was well run and exactly as described. Our tour guide (Luanna) was friendly and knowledgeable about the areas we visited and injected an upbeat spirit amongst those on the tour. We would highly recommend using this tour company when visiting the beautiful town of Paraty.

We had our transfer from Paraty to Ilha Grande then Ilha Grande to Rio arranged through Paraty Tours (our hosts at Maris Paraty Pousada made the arrangements). The process is smooth and easy. You do need PayPal to confirm and pay. Gabriela was quick to respond and was a huge help and very professional. She sent us the Flex Boat to let by WhatsApp which was fine to show to get on the boat. We even spoke to other Paraty Tour operators who were on the same Flex Boat as us and they were very helpful. The transfer vans are clean and comfortable, but the seats are a little small, but still good. Highly recommend the team!

I would not recommend Paraty Tours as they are more expensive and the tours are not conducted how they advertise them and are misleading. We were staying at private accommodation and the hosts suggested these tours, so we felt obliged to let them book the tours. We choose two different tours. The first one was the 4x4 Jeep, from 10.30 for 6 hours, costing R$80 each. We were picked up at our accommodation at 10am and taken to the office to pay. We ended up leaving 10.45 and went to the first waterfall where you couldn't swim, but at the second waterfall you could. Next stop was a local distillery where we spent well over an hour (which was way too long). Next stop was lunch at a restaurant. This stop was for well over 2 hours. There were 4 jeeps with around 30 people plus 6 crew. The restaurant offered their normal menu as well as a special menu for the Jeep tour. After sitting waiting for our order to be taken, other tables started receiving their drinks and meals. Still sitting waiting for our order to be taken, I glanced around to see the wait staff standing and just talking. Finally getting their attention, they went to another table to take their order (we were actually seated and given menus before them) They then came to us and took our order. We did not speak Portuguese or them English, but we managed to show them what we wanted to eat off the normal menu which was 2 pasta dishes and 2 pineapple juices. The wait staff had written the correct food down but written a totally different drink. We corrected her and she understood and wrote the correct one down. We sat and waited and waited and finally after nearly an hour and a half, one meal came and it was wrong so it was sent back. Ten minutes later the other meal and the correct meal came, but still no drinks. By this stage we weren't very impressed and was not going to ask for our drinks. Went to pay and were only charged for 2 meals and no drinks as the waiter forgot to pass the drink order on. The meal was average and quite expensive for what it was. After this, we went to the last waterfall and you had the choice to go to another distillery or stay at the waterfall. We chose to stay. This tour was supposed to be a 6 hour tour....take away the two hour+ lunch break and it becomes less than 4. We were did however get back at 5.30pm which was later than anticipated. We had booked to do another tour the next day and felt like cancelling because of this, but decided to continue with it. The second tour was the Netuno Expedition which was in a speedboat and took you to beaches. They advertised 3 stops for swimming and snorkelling starting 9am for 4 hours at a cost of R$120 each. We left on time at 9am and arrived at the first stop 30 minutes later. We were told that we had 40 minutes here. Next stop was 10 mins away and we were told we had 30 minutes here. Third stop was on an island where there was no beach and you could not swim as there were rocks and oysters, but there was a restaurant. Who wants to eat lunch at 11.30am when you are on a 4 hour tour and it finishes at 1pm!!!!!! Not us. We paid to be taken swimming and snorkelling for 4 hours not to eat. We were never offered snorkelling gear and the crew did not speak English. We returned on time at 1pm. Do youselves a favour and go to another tour operator.

We chartered a private boat ride through our Pousada. The boat (Malou II) and the boat driver (Juliano) were very neat, and presentable. Juliano was an excellent boat driver, and was extremely knowledgeable of the area, and even went out of the way to show us beaches and attractions (warm water beaches, starfish, etc.) that were not included in the brochure. We highly recommend you ask for Juliano, and ask about the Dois Irmão restaurant (located on an island).

The staff here were helpful for organising tours and spoke good enough English. We ended up taking a jeep tour. It was an affordable nice pleasant day out, with some nice waterfalls to swim at, but not amazing. The scale of the local waterfalls isn't overly spectacular, but they're pretty. The guide was very friendly and spoke English, but Portuguese was always spoken first for the rest of the group.

Really good company. We used their private driver service from SP to Paraty and from Paraty to Rio and we were extremely satisfied with the service. The drivers were punctual and super friendly.

This travel agency is fantastic. The tour by jeeps in the jungle is unforgettable experience. The tour guide is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. Moreover my companions who traveled with Rainbow agency paid 3 times (!) more for identical tour Jeeps in the Jungle. (I dont recommend Rainbow, I do recommend Paraty Tours)
