Inaugurada em 1908, foi construída por ingleses e escoceses que trabalhavam no Corpo de Engenharia da Companhia Progresso Industrial do Brasil (a famosa Fábrica de Tecidos Bangu). Tombada pelo IPHAN (Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional), conserva fielmente o seu estilo neogótico inglês. Atualmente é a Paróquia Matriz da Forania II, parte do Vicariato Oeste.
One of the most beautiful parishes in Rio de Janeiro. Inaugurated in 1908, it was built by the English and Scots who worked in the Engineering Body of the Companhia Progresso Industrial do Brasil (the famous Bangu Fabrics Factory). Listed by IPHAN (National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute), it faithfully preserves its English neo-Gothic style. It is currently the Parish of Forania II, part of the Vicariato Oeste.
