★ ★ ★ ★ ★ João Calábria (1873-1954) nasceu em Verona no dia 8 de outubro de 1873, sétimo e último filho de Luís Calábria, sapateiro, e de Ângela Foschio, empregada doméstica e mulher de grande fé, educada pelo Servo de Deus Pe. Nicolau Mazza, em seu Instituto para meninas pobres.
Desde o seu nascimento, a pobreza lhe foi mestra de vida. Vindo a falecer seu pai, teve que interromper a 4a série primária e trabalhar como garçom. Pe. Pedro Scapini, Reitor de São Lourenço, percebendo as virtudes do jovem, preparou-o com aulas particulares para os exames de admissão ao 2° grau, no Seminário. Tendo sido aprovado nos exames, foi admitido e freqüentou o 2° grau como aluno externo. Mas teve que interrompê-lo no 3° ano para prestar o serviço militar.
Neste sentido, o jovem distinguiu-se sobretudo pela sua caridade. Colocou-se a serviço de todos, dedicando-se aos trabalhos mais humildes e arriscados. Conquistou a amizade dos seus colegas e superiores, levando muitos à conversão e à prática da fé.
Terminado o serviço militar, retornou aos estudos. Numa noite fria de novembro de 1897 - quando freqüentava o l ° ano de teologia - regressando do hospital, onde tinha visitado doentes, encontrou encolhido na porta de sua casa um menino fugido dos ciganos. Então, acolhendo-o, levou-o para sua casa e partilhou com ele o seu pequeno quarto. Foi o inicio de suas obras com os meninos órfãos e abandonados.
Giovanni Calabria (1873-1954) was born in Verona on October 8, 1873, the seventh and last son of Louis Calabria, shoemaker, and of Angela Foschio, domestic servant and woman of great faith, educated by the Servant of God Fr. Nicolau Mazza, at his Institute for Poor Girls.
Since her birth, poverty has been the master of her life. Coming to die his father, he had to interrupt the 4th grade and work as a waiter. Fr. Pedro Scapini, Rector of São Lourenço, perceiving the virtues of the young man, prepared him with private lessons for the admission exams to the second degree, in the Seminary. Having passed the exams, he was admitted and attended the 2nd grade as an external student. But he had to interrupt it in the third year to do military service.
In this sense, the young person distinguished himself above all by his charity. He placed himself at the service of all, dedicating himself to the most humble and risky work. He conquered the friendship of his colleagues and superiors, leading many to conversion and practice of faith.
After his military service, he returned to his studies. On a cold night in November 1897, when he attended the first year of theology, returning from the hospital where he had visited the sick, he found a boy escaping from the Gypsies shrank from the door of his house. Then, taking him in, he took him to his house and shared with him his little room. It was the beginning of his works with the orphaned and abandoned children.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Esta é a paróquia que frequento, e como paróquia não tem o que avaliar como estabelecimento, é um lugar de paz, onde a gente se sente bem, acolhido e abraçado por Deus e quando a gente se sente assim, pode estar em qualquer lugar.
Mas pra quem quiser ajudar, estamos em reforma para tornar o ambiente melhor, climatizado, belo, nunca será o que o Senhor merece, mas Ele não quer isso, então é uma reforma para que os fiéis se sintam mais confortáveis fisicamente, porque espiritualmente nos sentimos "perfeitos"
