★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A visita à capela de Nossa Senhora de Monserrat, construída por volta de 1766, pelos monges Beneditinos, tombada pelo INEPAC e situada na zona Oeste do Rio de Janeiro, é obrigatória.
De arquitetura colonial, combina harmoniosamente com a ainda preservada Mata Atlântica e, do alto da colina de onde emerge, pode admirar-se uma paisagem maravilhosa.
No seu interior, no altar principal, está a imagem de Nossa Senhora de Monserrat, uma réplica em gesso da original de madeira, que foi transferida para o Mosteiro de São Bento.
Apesar de toda a beleza, faz-se necessária uma conservação mais acurada, especialmente no seu interior.
 A visit to the chapel of Nossa Senhora de Monserrat, built around 1766, by the Benedictine monks, listed by INEPAC and located in the west of Rio de Janeiro, is mandatory.
With colonial architecture, it combines harmoniously with the still preserved Atlantic Forest and, from the top of the hill from which it emerges, you can admire a wonderful landscape.
Inside, on the main altar, is the image of Nossa Senhora de Monserrat, a plaster replica of the original wooden one, which was transferred to the São Bento Monastery.
Despite all the beauty, more accurate conservation is necessary, especially inside.

As missas acontecem as 11h nos domingos.
Beautiful church, very quiet climate in the place does not even seem like we are in the city ... it is really welcoming and transmits a lot of good energy ...
Masses take place at 11am on Sundays.

Abre aos domingos para a Missa às 10h am.
Wonderful little church in a place with excellent energy. The view from there is fantastic: Barra, Recreio and the Atlantic Forest of Vargem Grande. It is worth visiting when in the area.
Opens on Sundays for Mass at 10 am.

Beautiful landscape, we see the bar, recreation, glued to the Atlantic Forest. It's a journey through time, an ancient construction, this little church takes us back to the time of the Empire.
