A pedra santa Maria, na saída de Muriaé-MG para Itaperuna-RJ tem aproximadamente 300m de altura. A trilha não é das mais fáceis, mas não chega a ser difícil. Com tudo, é preciso ter cuidado devido ao grau de inclinação da face Sudeste. De lá, é possível observar toda a cidade de Muriaé-MG o distrito de Ivai, e também pontos interessantes como a pedra Elefantina o Pangarito, o Pontão da Água Limpa e também a PCH Cachoeira encoberta.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trilha bem sinalizada porém é bom conversar com quem já visitou para não errar entrada na BR. Excelente vista de Muriaé apesar de ser bem íngreme a subida. Vale muito a pena de se conhecer.
The trail is well signposted but it is good to talk to those who have already visited so as not to miss the entrance to BR. Excellent view of Muriaé despite the steep climb. It is well worth getting to know.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trilha bem sinalizada,com visão 360 no top e de fácil acesso , a propriedade é privada e quando for estacionar os carros, cuidado para não atrapalhar a passagem dos moradores.
Levem bastante água, um lanche rápido e lanternas caso for ver o por do sol, pq na descida fica escuro e a lanterna do celular não ilumina direito.
Well-signposted trail, with 360 view at the top and easy access, the property is private and when parking your cars, be careful not to interfere with the passage of residents.
Bring plenty of water, a quick snack and flashlights in case you're going to see the sunset, because on the way down it's dark and the cell phone's flashlight doesn't shine well.

O horário permitido para o acesso é a partir das 6 da manhã e não pode haver pernoite.
A subida é um tanto íngreme para não praticantes de atividades físicas. Ideal ir com bota porque escorrega bastante por conta do capim.
Leve lanche e água.
A Pedra Santa por vezes é confundida com a gruta da Pedra Santa.
