★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A área da Praça João Clímaco, na Cidade Alta, que foi por mais de 300 anos palco de manifestações políticas, vai ganhar um largo cívico com o desenho em granito do primeiro mapa da Vila de Vitória, no ano de 1767.
Os turistas e moradores vão poder caminhar pela praça e visualizar onde estão os prédios históricos antes de fazer a visita ao centro antigo da cidade.
O largo com o mapa, que ficará onde hoje é o estacionamento em frente ao Palácio Anchieta, terá o tamanho de 2,7 mil metros. Ele será o marco zero da cidade.
Além disso, o local onde hoje é a Praça João Clímaco, que possui 1,3 mil metros, também será revitalizado.
De acordo com a secretária de Desenvolvimento da Cidade em exercício, Clemir Pela Meneghel, o objetivo desse projeto é resgatar toda a memória cívica do espaço, dentro do projeto de Revitalização do Centro. O anúncio da restauração da praça foi feito pelo prefeito João Coser, após assinatura de convênio com a Vale, no Palácio Anchieta.
