Muito embora esteja localizada em uma região carente na caatinga, no semiárido brasileiro, a cidade de Cedro é um local alegre e festivo com vários eventos ao longo do ano, como a Festa do Milho em julho, a festa da emancipação da cidade em dezembro e também o festival de música Canta Cedro, também no mês de dezembro de cada ano. Além disso as festividades juninas são comemoradas com bastante intensidade na cidade.
 The city hall of Cedro Pernambuco, like all city halls in the interior, is always very accessible. Even though it is located in a poor region in the caatinga, in the Brazilian semiarid region, the city of Cedar is a joyful and festive place with several events throughout the year, such as the Festa do Milho in July, the party of emancipation of the city in December and also the Canta Cedro music festival, also in December of each year. In addition, June festivities are celebrated with great intensity in the city.
