â â â â â O distrito foi criado pela lei estadual nÂș 235, de 9 de dezembro de 1938, pertencendo ao municĂpio de Paulista (Pernambuco), a povoação ganhou o nome de uma senhora, dona Maricota, muito bem relacionada entre os habitantes locais e proprietĂĄria de um estabelecimento de serviço de alimentação. Durante anos o povoado foi um local acolhedor, principalmente para homens de negĂłcios que ali paravam para refeiçÔes ou pernoite.
A lei estadual nÂș 4.993, de 20 de dezembro de 1963, elevou o distrito a categoria de municĂpio, o qual foi extinto em 27 de agosto de 1964 pelo AcĂłrdĂŁo do Tribunal de Justiça, mandado de segurança nÂș 56.889.
No ano de 1982, atravĂ©s do voto popular em plebiscito realizado no dia 9 de maio daquele ano, apĂłs 400 anos sob o domĂnio polĂtico de Igarassu, e outros 47 anos subordinados ĂĄ cidade de Paulista, o municĂpio viu a sua emancipação se tornar realidade no dia 14 de maio de 1982 apĂłs assinatura do decreto que tambĂ©m emancipava os distritos de Itapissuma e Camaragibe.
 The district was created by state law No. 235, of December 9, 1938, belonging to the municipality of Paulista (Pernambuco), the village was named after a lady, Mrs. Maricota, very well connected among the local inhabitants and owner of an establishment food service. Pastor, eu fui pra rua participei de muitas caminhadas e comĂcios seus, votei no senhor, mas me perdoe a franqueza mas o senhor estĂĄ mau acessorado e nĂŁo estĂĄ ciente dos absurdos que estĂŁo acontecendo na nossa Cidade. Como sugestĂŁo acompanhe melhor o funcionamento das suas secretĂĄrias e postos de saĂșde que nĂŁo sĂŁo todos; mas tem alguns que estĂŁo tratando as pessoas como cachorros, isso Ă© desumano. Fica aqui o recado de sua eleitora. Que Deus o abençoe sempre Pastor e lhe dĂȘ discernimento. A paz do Senhor esteja contigo.
It is a disregard for the population the city hall phone does not answer, some secretaries when the agent gives the number does not exist. â â â â â Na maioria das vezes o telefone da prefeitura nĂŁo funciona, quando funciona vocĂȘ nĂŁo consegue encontrar a pessoa responsĂĄvel. AĂ vocĂȘ se desloca para o local e nĂŁo consegue atendimento. Ă muita falta de responsabilidade e atenção com o cidadĂŁo.
Most of the time the city hall phone doesn't work, when it works you can't find the person responsible. Then you go to the place and you can't get service. It's a lot of lack of responsibility and attention to the citizen.

Por que a atual gestĂŁo da Prefeitura de Abreu e Lima, ainda nĂŁo se pronunciou com relação a Av. ASSEDIP, trecho no entorno da Quartizolit, uma vez que o referido acesso encontra-se extremamente esburacado trazendo consequĂȘncias para todos que por ali passam diariamente.
Um prefeito nĂŁo Ă© apenas um representante de uma cidade, bem como pode se articular com o planeta, como um lĂder polĂtico, seja lĂĄ o que for, lutando pelo melhor de sua cidade.
Quando existe um desejo polĂtico, existe tambĂ©m criatividade para enfrentar uma dificuldade, seja lĂĄ qual for.
Qualquer proprietĂĄrio de um veĂculo quando nĂŁo paga o IPVA, qual Ă© a primeira medida que o DETRAN-PE toma de imediato?
Fica aĂ o meu apelo, mĂĄs que vai beneficiar a todos no entorno daquela ĂĄrea. Muito embora passo todos os dias pelo referido caminho de ĂŽnibus.
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM:
