★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came after seeing Dona Suzana on Netflix and the place did not disappoint at all. Beautifully ramshackled, cheap, packed to the rafters, with an amazing view of the sea. I expected Dona Suzana to be hidden away in the kitchen but she was front and centre the whole afternoon, taking in customers, cleaning tables, handing us beer. Such a great vibe from a woman with a brilliant story. And the food was fantastic too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrived at this place a little too late in the day. Most food was unavailable so in order to make the trip worth it, I ordered the last thing in the menu. Sting ray and vegetarian dish. First time eating sting ray, I found the flavor a bit too strong but the seasoning and the other food in general made the experience better. The price is super cheap. The atmosphere is amazing. It’s like going to eat at your grandmas house. I will be going back to try the other dishes. Suzana is just a happy woman. Recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely culinary experience in an amazing setting! Dona Suzana’s moqueca is famous with cause: it is simply delicious and she is absolutely charming and welcoming! And the view of the sunset overlooking the sea just ties the whole experience together! It’s a must if you come to Salvador!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Abit of a queue and the food shows why - they only do a few dishes and we got the moquega fish stew. Was really delicious - glad to see Mark Wien's wasnt exaggerating how delicious it was.
The place was a little hard to find but it was very cool walking through the favela and seeing all the bars and restaurants that have opened up near by.
