One of the best places to visit while in Belém! You get immersed into part of the Amazon rainforest and can swim in the Guamá River. Chalé da Ilha also offers a good restaurant with typical foods, beer and games such as table tennis.

Restaurant Chale da ihla do Combu is located 20mn by boat from Belem on the other side of the water. Excellent restaurant and place to spend the day, with access to river, you can enjoy swimming in the river or stay on restaurant dock inside their mini river swimming pool. Food is excellent, I highly recommend the local Crab and also local fish tambaqui. Cupuacu cream is delicious for desert.

the best restaurant on Combu Island. Small pool (to toddlers), bath on river with all time lifeguard, huge meal dishes (can eat until 3 regular person). You need get a boat on Saint Izabel Square (R$7 or us$2). Ask to boat commander to stop on handicraft chocolate store (close 5pm)

I’m only giving more than one star because the food was decent and the waitress was very kind, but our group had a terrible experience with the owner. We were seated at a floating table by the water, and asked if it was okay to order food there, which they said it was. Just after our food arrived, a boat passing by created a wave that destroyed our entire meal. When we asked if the food could be replaced, the owner was reluctant, saying that it was our fault “for not lifting our plates when the boat passed”, and even blamed the waitress as well. I couldn’t believe he was serious. When he eventually agreed to replace the food, he wanted to serve us at a plastic table without chairs. We had to demand an actual table to sit at.

Good for an exploratory boat trip from Belem, for a drink or lunch. Fun place to spend some time with family or friends. Not easy to keep clean and tidy.
