★ ★ ★ ★ ★ O restaurante Mau Maria serve comida portuguesa legítima, muito saborosa e com preços populares. O ambiente é bem decorado, pequeno, com poucas mesas e bastante disputado. É difícil conseguir uma mesa nos finais de semana. Recomendo muito este restaurante.
 The Mau Maria restaurant serves legitimate Portuguese food, very tasty and with popular prices. The environment is well decorated, small, with few tables and very popular. It's hard to get a table on weekends. I highly recommend this restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Comida deliciosa, o restaurante é comandado pelo casal de origem portuguesa, o marido é o chef e a esposa, q aliás é uma simpatia, é quem atende as mesas. O restaurantes não é grande e é bem rústico, mas muito aconchegante, e o mais importante, preço justo, e a dona explica os pratos, qdo perguntado, sem ficar empurrando um ou outro. Resumindo, AMEI e recomendo.
Fomos jantar ontem e vamos almoçar na quinta feira antes de voltarmos para São Paulo
Delicious food, the restaurant is run by the couple of Portuguese origin, the husband is the chef and the wife, who is actually kind, is the one who waits for the tables. The restaurant is not big and is very rustic, but very cozy, and most importantly, fair prices, and the owner explains the dishes, when asked, without pushing one or the other. In short, I LOVED it and recommend it.
We went for dinner yesterday and will have lunch on Thursday before heading back to São Paulo

Excellent food and service. Great value for money. Charming Portuguese restaurant with excellent dishes. At least once a month I go on it. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, great for a dinner for two or meeting with friends. Good wines.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Foi uma experiência sensacional! Uma excelente surpresa no meio da feira dos turistas da orla de Atalaia em Aracaju. Trabalham o cheff (de verdade), sua esposa e a mãe dela. Todos portugueses, "o pah"! A cozinha fica no meio com um balcão de um lado e o salão de mesas do outro. Do balcão é possível acompanhar o preparo e a finalização dos pratos, o que por si só já é uma arte de encher os olhos (e a boca de saliva). Nas mesas o ambiente é só Portugal, com uma criativa decoração portuguesa e músicas daquele país tocando ao fundo, bem baixinho, compondo muito bem o clima lusitano. Nos dias quentes recomendo o balcão. Abrem para almoço, e para jantar das 18h às 23h. Não há muitas mesas e o lugar é disputado. Preços justos.
It was a sensational experience! An excellent surprise in the middle of the Atalaia seaside tourist fair in Aracaju. The chef (real), his wife and her mother work. All Portuguese, "o pah"! The kitchen is in the middle with a counter on one side and the dining room on the other. From the counter, you can watch the preparation and completion of the dishes, which in itself is an art to fill your eyes (and mouth with saliva). At the tables, the atmosphere is just Portugal, with a creative Portuguese decor and music from that country playing in the background, very softly, composing the Portuguese atmosphere very well. On hot days I recommend the balcony. Open for lunch and dinner from 6pm to 11pm. There aren't many tables and the place is hot. Fair prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A 4 anos frequento este restaurante quando estou em Aracaju. Este ano tive o prazer de pedir ao Chefe uma refeição, a que ele quisesse fazer para mim. Isso foi uma experiência surpreendente. Como sempre, todos os pratos servidos neste lugar são bons e sempre acompanhado de um bom vinho do porto ou licor beirão.
I've been going to this restaurant for 4 years when I'm in Aracaju. This year I had the pleasure of asking the Chef for a meal, whatever he wanted to cook for me. This was an amazing experience. As always, all the dishes served in this place are good and always accompanied by a good port wine or Beira liquor.
