★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The acarajé is quite expensive, soggy and the flavor isn't that good. 24 reais for an acarajé while you can pay 50 % less and a much tastier acarajé.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You do not need to be in Bahia to taste an almost mythical Acarajé, without a doubt the best fission flavors on this side of the world. Also, the Caipirinha mixes are nothing you have tasted before. For the less adventurous folks there is a huge selection of beers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went here after searching on Google Maps. Actually, I went to the sister restaurant over the road, Rota de Cachaça....It was a smaller footing at the door, but larger interior.
It was full of groups and couples. I asked if I could have a drink on the terrace before eating, and was placed with a welcome. This is despite only speaking English and Spanish. We communicated and all was good.
On reading the menu, I thought I might be disappointed and need to go elsewhere, because the menu tells us that 90% of the menu os for 6-8 people. Don't let this put you off. I had a shepherd's pie with Jerk beef and Yuka and a side of coriander rice included. To a Lancastrian, this might have been called a cottage pie, but what the heck,? I am in Sao Paolo.
It was, by a long way, the best meal I have had since getting here 4 days ago. They gave me the space that a single diner likes to have, but also made me feel welcome and part of the dining experience.
I had a Caipirinha while I browsed the menu. This lived up to my expectations. Their beer menu, though, went above and beyond. I tried a couple of bottles from their suggestions and I am happy as Larry on a happy day.
I am here for 5 more nights. While I always prefer to try going to various places while I am on Business travels, I will come back here, again, before I head back to Europe.
Very much recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little joint serving Salvadoran food - which is amazing if your culinary tastes have developed in India. The portions were grand and the food was extremely delicious. The restaurant was a little small in size so it could be a bit stuffy when packed. I wouldn't mind. I'd come back for the food every time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is horrible, not well seasoned and if it was it tasted HORRENDOUS. Sub par staff as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I liked their food, was a good Sunday choice but I found it a bit expensive for what it offers. There are other options with better service and portions that have better prices for the same Bahiana food.
The waiters are super nice and kind, so that makes your visit more joyful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved everything, from ambiance to service to the food. Excellent acarajé and bobo de camarão, and coconut cake! And over 1100 cachaças to choose from!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best Bahia restaurant in São Paulo, with a huge menu of caipirinhas and other cachaça cocktails, mandioca frita to have on the side of the drinks and acarajé to die for, really. All the other dishes - from moquecas to meats and fish and seafoods to the deserts - the lovely staff help you feel at home even if you were not born in Brazil or live there (like myself), and it is truly an amazing to come back again and again.
